HIV/AIDS Education Program

Improving health conditions of students

Each year the Center reach out to 20 rural schools

The HIV/AIDS education conducted by the Center is a critical response to the epidemic by reaching the youth ages from 13-15, one of the key affected populations. Each year, the Center works with twenty schools within one of six districts in Nongbualamphu. The year begins with a training camp for teachers followed by another training camp for both teachers and student leaders. The Center then works with those who received training to conduct a two-day workshop at their respective schools. As a result of the cooperation, teachers and student leaders would continue the awareness and prevention program on their own, increasing sustainability. Every year, the Center reaches nearly 2,500 people directly through the education program by training teachers, students, and social welfare and sub-health center personnel.
